There apparently was a pilot program in a few cities for Cash for Caulkers - does any one know if anyone in the pilot program got subsidized for improving insulation/energy efficiency?

We will have really been looking into solar energy for just about a twelve months and my spouse and i finally made the actual commitment based upon on the combination of governtment incentive programs in addition to exceptionally inexpensive loans. My partner and i have actually already been looking into photo voltaic energy for nearly a yr and as a result the two of us conclusively made the commitment based upon the mix of governtment incentive options together with incredibly inexpensive capital. I basically could hardly believe just how affordable the program was and as a consequence my spouse and i have actually ended up being a new solar house for approximately a 4 weeks and so everything appears as though it is in fact working out excellent. We can essentially relax and watch how much electricity we aer preserving each and every night and so it is really very incredible. I alway assumed that solar power is supported by means of a good deal of hype nonetheless I can easily reveal everyone the fact that the product is definitely the genuine deal. We wish my spouse and i had implemented it ages ago.

I am incredibly troubled about the 2012 election. With the trouble that is occuring in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East (not to mention the economy) we positively should demand a good leader. I'm far from convinced that President Obama or any of the Republican contenders thus far have the experience or skills it takes to get the job done the way it has to be done. Being president of the U.S. is an tremendously challenging job. Do you think there is someone out there with the experience, skill, and moral courage to do the job?

This tax cut would be huge for home owners and the building industry. If Obama really wants to create jobs now's his chance.

Very disappointing that this hasn't gained momentum. This a great way to put people to work as well as do a lot for your environment. Thanks for the updates. I enjoy your blog.

The rich get all kiinds of breaks yet the ordinary middle person who want to to put in
insullation and a cool roof gets no breaks. I only purchased $1500 for new new doors and windows because there was going to be a rebate. I also purchased a refrigerator becaue I received a rebate.

I am not going through with plans to put new insulation in my attic or purchase a new air conditioner and furnace. because the government didn' t pass the silver star and gold star plan.
I canceled my order for a cool roof shingles last year because the senate didn;t pass the
retrofit homestar bill.

I wish they would take action on what would bring more jobs and make ou nation energy efficient.

Our government hipes the people for energy equipment but they don't provide the incentives.
I am not doing anything because the senate doesn't feel it should be pased. If the bill passed
a lot of people would have jobs.

Tell the President, No incentive is the same as saying to the American public and the entire home improvement industry that energy savings is not important enough to him and that employing hundreds of thousands of home improvement people is not essential to his presidency and that helping the lower to middle class people in our country is only important in speeches. Americans want the Government to cut wasteful spending and dishonest back door deals not the programs that create jobs and improve the energy efficiency of our homes.
I have no confidence this president even gets it. However make it something that will make him look good and watch him jump into action. What a Fake we have for the president of the United States of America.

I am a contractor on Oregon. Regarding the Energy Score program, I looked at the "data collection sheet" and was wondering why one needs to be a RESNET Rater to do this audit?? It is a very straight forward form. Any residential contractor could fill it out.

I hope that this idea is not dead. It would certainly help to promote home energy efficiency and allow home owners to do so with tax credits.
